“It’s not easy being Green”

“It’s not easy being green.

It seems you blend in with so many other ordinary things.

And people tend to pass you over ’cause you’re not standing out like flashy

sparkles in the water –

or stars in the sky”.

It forever amazes me how plants and trees can find a place to grow in these desert environments. And then hang on for years and years, even if they have to go dormant for a while. For those of us who live east of the Mississippi “green” is the norm. In the desert, not so much.

The green makes a nice “hook” to catch your eye and then draw you back into the photo. We seem so small when confronted with a scene like this don’t we? Very nice.

Thanks EB. Yeah, but not as small as I felt the other day when I saw the image of earth from a million miles away (released by NASA). It gave the “pale blue dot” idea a whole new meaning………

Thanks, John. I love finding these little islands of green in the desert. Not that they’re hard to find, exactly. It’s just that it seems so different from where I live. Here in western NY green is “king”.
