Paul, some smashing reds in this photo…if this was taken recently you’re a number of weeks behind us here. We’ve full green foliage, seems like some of the heaviest/thickest I seen in a few years. The spring pollen period seemed a bit extended as well. It can’t decide if it wants to be summer or spring so one week we have temps in the upper 80’s lower 90’s and the next back down to the 60’s and lower 70’s. It’s best not to plan on anything that’s dependent upon the weather.

I haven’t been on-line much recently and have definitely slacked in my posting, reading and commenting. Sometimes life just gets in the way! 🙂

Actually, this was taken near Charleston a few weeks ago, just before Barb and I met you guys on our way home. But you’re still correct – we’re definitely “behind” you guys. Most trees now have leaves and blossoms, and many of the blossoms have already fallen off. Go down by the lake, however, and you’ll find trees that have just started showing small leaves. The “big lake” has a profound effect on local weather, especially weather within a few miles of its shoreline. Lakeside temperatures are often 10 degrees cooler than what you’ll find a few miles inland.

Sadly, I haven’t been able to get out much with the camera – my damn foot problem (plantar fascitis) has returned. This getting older thing is a pain in the butt……….a slightly different version of “life getting in the way”!

Sorry to hear about the plantar fasciitis, Paul. I limped around about a year when my left heel flared up a couple of years ago. After the long recovery period it hasn’t come back…yet. However, I cringe every time there is even the slightest of tightness in it. Best of luck for a quick recovery!

I suppose it’s better to have “fallen tree blossoms” than “blossoms from a fallen tree.” I’ll echo Earl’s comment…very nice reds.

Sorry to hear about the foot problems. Those things have a way of cropping up just after the warranty runs out. 🙂

Thanks, Tom. Yes, we don’t get those kinds of reds up here (not from trees, anyway). This would have been a great place for a wedding, I think……

“Just after the warranty runs out”? I think my warranty ran out about the same time that the warranty on my 8-track player did!
